Hurricane Katrina

Dec 22 2005
ARNO/Best Friends

On Ground To February
ARNO animal aid continues through Jan into Feb. Animals are still sighted under homes, in sewers, on ledges, or roaming empty streets. Food sources left with evacuees. Yet endless litters mean more hungry animals. Some live in buildings to be bulldozed. Please open your heart to animal victims.

ARNO/Best Friends New Site

Animal Rescue New Orleans has united with Best Friends and no longer works from the Magazine/Felicity site. We ask for your patience as we fine-tune admin issues. We need ARNO volunteers to pitch in with care, walks and cleaning at Celebration Station, along with food/water and trap/rescue.

Second Chance For Katrina "Leftovers"
Kate Danaher, Kinship Circle's social media director and an ARNO Coordinator, rescued Daisy – a pregnant Katrina dog whose pups all found homes. Above, Kate reunites Daisy's family to celebrate her dog Joe's birthday. Daisy was a scrappy "leftover," stranded in post-storm Mississippi.
