HELP NEEDED AT WATER/WIND WRECKED DENHAM SPRINGS SHELTER
We still need volunteers in Denham Springs, Louisiana (where MuttShack is situated) to restore the areas shelter. An initial 150
dogs and 250 cats required evacuation and the situation here remains dire. At least 40 cats have been transported out to a no-kill
shelter in Arkansas...
INCOMING VOLUNTEERS ON STANDBY FOR HURRICANE IKE EVACS & AFTERMATH:
Hurricane Ike is predicted to make landfall as early as Saturday, which means people/pet evacuations may begin Thursday of next
week. MuttShack is still under agreement to provide animal transport to Mega Shelters (emergency shelters where city-assisted
evacuees live alongside their animals) and staff Parish Pick-up Points.
