On February 27, 2010, an 8.8-magnitude earthquake crashed into Chile, displacing some 2 million people. Soon after, two tsunamis swept over coastal towns and over 20 aftershocks (some as high as 7.2 and 6.9) caused more damage. With your help, we can give animal victims a second chance. Please support our animal rescue plan in Chile.

Kinship Circle teams are currently in Chile working alongside Socorro Animal Chile (Animal Relief Chile) under authorization from Chile’s Foreign Ministry and Defense Department. We need to erect a temporary clinic/shelter for the extended care of thousands of displaced animals. Photos are from early March, after quake, to present.

April 1-4, 2010 — Photos are from Kinship Circle, in the field with Socorro Animal Chile (SACH), Chilean veterinarians and vet students. Above, a cat in a Chile coastal area, north of Concepcion, is treated at a temp vet clinic where Kinship Circle’s team assists Chilean vets. Eye infections are common, some due to prolonged saltwater exposure following an earthquake prompted tsunami.
